Dentist in Town – Cosmetic Dentistry
One of the first things people notice about you is your smile. If chipped, stained, or crooked teeth
are “hiding” the real you, it’s time for a smile make over. This can be achieved by whitening your
teeth, having porcelain veneers, lumineers, crowns, implants, cosmetic bonding (composite fillings)
A beautiful smile can brighten your life every day, professionally and socially. Unlike plastic
surgery, cosmetic dentistry isn’t a major operation – and the results are immediate and dramatic.
So, you tell us what changes you want to make, we’ll check you over thoroughly and then we can
discuss what options are suitable for you. Then we’ll give you a treatment plan and fee estimate to
take away and consider in your own time.

Veneers and lumineers are thin shells of porcelain that are made to fit over your natural teeth with
minimal tooth preparation. We can change the shape, colour and length of your teeth in only two
visits. Veneers are also ideal for closing gaps between front teeth or repairing chips and cracks.
They look so good you’ll wonder why you waited so long.
There are a variety of porcelains available for veneers, each with different characteristics and
different prices. We will discuss all the options with you so you can make an informed decision
about what treatment and what materials are best for you.
If your teeth have been damaged, badly broken or heavily filled, crowns may be the perfect answer
for you. Dental crowns (sometimes called ‘caps’) restore the appearance and strength of teeth that
are ‘too far gone’ to be filled successfully. Crowns can be made entirely of porcelain or consist of
porcelain bonded to a gold sub-shell for extra strength. In either case, the shade and shape of the
crown is perfectly matched to your natural teeth – but the all-porcelain crowns have a more natural
‘sparkle’. As with veneers, crowns are available in a range of porcelains.
A dental bridge is a way of replacing one or more missing teeth by permanently fixing the
replacement tooth to one or more of your own standing teeth. As with most things, there’s more
than one way of doing this and each method comes with its own pros and cons.
Everyone is different and the same treatment could be perfect for one person, the answer to their
prayers, yet be disastrous for someone else. You need to find out what your options are and which of them would be right for YOU.
Your best move now would be to come in for a FREE, NO-OBLIGATION consultation to find out if
a dental bridge would be right for you and, if so, which type of bridge would be best. We’ll examine
you, discuss all the options and enable you to make an informed decision in your own time.
With modern white filling materials it is much easier to find a perfect colour match to your teeth. In
most cases, it’s impossible to see that the tooth even has a filling. As well as being used instead of
metal for standard fillings, white materials can be bonded to front teeth to cover unsightly marks, to
repair breaks and cracks, or to improve the shape of the teeth.
White filings (composite bondings) cost a little more than traditional metal ones and they take a bit
longer to do but if you want teeth that look as if they’ve always been healthy and have never needed
any work, our new white fillings may be the answer for you.
If you’re happy with amalgam (metal) fillings, that’s okay, we’re happy to provide them. Amalgam
is strong and long-lasting, and the concerns regarding supposed health risks have largely been
discounted. The choice is yours.
